How to enroll in Medicare
- Medicare Matters – This is a great site to learn everything about Medicare.
- There are a couple different ways to apply for medicare:
- You need to apply through Social Security.
- Most people will get a package in the mail from Social Security when they are around 65 years of age
- If you do not hear from Social Security when you are 65 years old, you must take the initiative. You can go online to socialsecurity.gov to apply or call or visit a social security office.
- It is a good idea to apply for Part A even if you are working or have coverage through a spouse. The premium is free for most people.
